Formed jointly by the NBA, NBPA, and NBCA in 2020, we are the 501(c)(4) advocacy arm of the NBA community. We turn people power into public policy.

We connect people to our mission through educational events like our “Give & Go” Policy Learning Series, “On Court Conversations,” issue townhalls, and community roundtables alongside NBA teams and local partners. Using the platforms of the game, we share key facts, issue briefs, and policy updates.
We work with NBA teams and partners to execute on our advocacy agenda: we support bipartisan legislation and policy measures on our issues at the federal, state, and local levels. And we build signature impact activations that drive change, like our Expungement Summits held in partnership with NBA teams and hosted at their arenas.
When policy is rooted in justice, it becomes a powerful tool for transforming lives—opening doors to opportunity, restoring rights, and building safer and healthier communities. In partnership with leaders across the NBA community, the Coalition has leveraged the power of basketball to secure policy wins improving the lives of 12 million Americans.
